Heather M. Aby
Heather M. Aby grew up in South Mississippi where she attended the University of Southern Mississippi, receiving her Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology with a minor in Business Administration. Ms. Aby received her law degree from Mississippi College School of Law in 2002. Ms. Aby earned American Jurisprudence Awards in Employment Discrimination and Secured Transactions.
Ms. Aby has achieved an AV rating in Martindale Hubbell Law Directory, was named a Top 50 Business Woman by the Mississippi Business Journal in 2011 and a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers in 2011. Ms. Aby is a member of the Mississippi Bar Association, the Rankin County Bar Association, and the Capitol Area Bar Association and is a member of the Editorial Board of the Mississippi Defense Lawyer’s Association.
In addition to her business law, tax law, intellectual property and employment law practice, Ms. Aby handles matters in the broad spectrum of family law, ranging from adoptions to contested divorces and all areas in between.
Ms. Aby is principally responsible for the firm’s wide-ranging U.S. immigration case load, including but not limited to: family-based immigration, consular processing, education and training visas, citizenship and naturalization, business immigration, Immigration litigation and investigations/audits and administrative appeals.
Ms. Aby also has significant experience in healthcare litigation including the representation of clients through mediation, arbitration and appeals to the Mississippi Supreme Court as well as defense of health care professionals before Mississippi’s administrative boards, including Mississippi Board of Nursing and Mississippi Board of Licensed Professional Counselors.
